Our Bespoke Handmade Furniture Design Process
Cotswolds furniture design
We specialise in custom furniture design right here in the Cotswolds and the surrounding areas. And we think our process is pretty special. We blend cutting edge principles of innovative engineering and design with the traditional know how that comes with being cabinet and furniture makers. So, everything we create is the perfect combination of function and beauty.

It all starts with a conversation
Our bespoke handmade furniture design process here at Aperture starts with a conversation. When working with a furniture designer, you need to be sure that you’ve chosen the right person for the job. It’s important to find a designer you trust to manage your project, after all, your home is precious!
So, we’ll meet with you initially to discuss your needs and ideas, as well as getting to know each other. At this stage, we encourage our clients to show us some pictures or a Pinterest board of what they have in mind. This helps us to get a feel for what they’re looking to achieve. However, if you’re not entirely sure and would like some more expert guidance, we’re good at quickly getting to grips with your ideas and translating them into something spectacular.
Some clients come to us just looking for one or two pieces of custom furniture. But others need us to design and fill entire rooms. Whatever the size of your project, we still take the time to get to know your needs thoroughly. This helps us to ensure complete satisfaction no matter the scope of the job.

Handmade furniture design phase
Once we’re satisfied that we’ve fully understood your ideas, we’ll move onto the interior and furniture design stage. We’ll draw up some sketches and plans of your custom furniture, as well as how each piece will fit within the room.
We want you to get a look and feel for the finished result. And we’ll go back to the drawing board as many times as it takes for you to be completely happy with what we’ve created.

Building your bespoke handmade furniture
After you’ve approved the design, we’ll get started building your furniture. This takes place in our Cotswolds furniture design workshop.
Whilst all of our furniture is handmade, we’re anything but traditional. We’re passionate about German furniture design and installation because in our world ‘German’ is synonymous with ‘quality and innovation’.
This means that even if you want your furniture to have a traditional look and feel, it will still function perfectly and seamlessly, benefitting from cutting edge modern technology and process.

Furniture installation and fitting
We’re proud to offer an end-to-end service here at Aperture. This means that we not only design and build your handmade furniture, we also carry out all installations ourselves. Keeping the whole process in house allows us to keep an eye on quality control. We monitor every stage of the process to ensure that everything adheres to our strict standards.
We offer a discreet service, providing only the most professional fitters to work on your home. So, you can be confident that your property is in safe, capable hands.
Dedicated aftercare service
On-hand indefinitely
Our service doesn’t end when we’ve completed your installation. We’ll be on hand indefinitely to make sure you’re satisfied with your new furniture or your new room. Due to our thorough process, we’re confident that you’ll be happy with the quality of the work we’ve done immediately. However, if this isn’t the case, we’ll return as many times as it takes to ensure you’re as excited about the finished result as we are.
We pride ourselves on our communication and personal service here at Aperture. Many larger furniture companies simply cannot offer the personal touch that we can. Rest assured that you’re never a number in the system to us.
